Kaiyo is a Nikkei restaurant and rooftop bar in SoMa, bringing together Japanese and Peruvian cuisine across two distinct spaces - a ground-floor dining room and a 12th-floor rooftop bar with views of Oracle Park.

We're looking for a Floor Manager who leads with both warmth and authority and understands that great hospitality starts with a great team. This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll be on the floor, not behind a desk - supporting your team, reading the room, and making sure every guest leaves with a great impression of Kaiyo.

What the role looks like

Managing daily floor operations across the restaurant and rooftop
Leading and supporting FOH staff through service with clear communication and a calm presence
Ensuring service standards, brand presentation, and guest experience are consistently upheld
Handling guest concerns with professionalism and genuine care
Overseeing opening and closing procedures and holding the team accountable for them
Supporting scheduling, staff accountability, and California labor law compliance, including meal breaks and clock-in procedures
Communicating clearly with the kitchen, bar, and ownership

What we're looking for

At least 2 years of FOH management experience in a full-service restaurant or bar environment
Strong working knowledge of California labor law - meal breaks, overtime, wage and hour compliance
Experience with scheduling and labor management tools
Someone who leads by example, earns respect naturally, and makes people want to do their best work
Genuine passion for hospitality and the guest experience
Availability for evenings, weekends, and event nights
